The time was right to break down the crates this week and let the stainless vessels move into their place. In the interest of wood conservation I’m hoping to reuse the wood crate parts for the bar facing. We will see how that works out. We now have a Hot Liqueur tank, Mash Tun, and Brew kettle. Here is a very basic rundown on the purpose of each piece of the brewhouse. The Hot Liqueur tank is basically a Hot Water tank, the Mash Tun holds grain that is (mashed) soaked in hot water and rinsed to produce wort, which is then boiled in the Brew kettle. Our brewhouse is a 2 barrel system which places us in the Nano-Brewery category.
